How to Configure PDQ, Printer, and NFC in Kiosk

For managers or authorized staff preparing a kiosk for card payments and receipt printing.

Purpose

Use this guide to open the protected kiosk settings, add a PDQ, connect a receipt printer, and enable NFC Tap To Pay.

Before You Start

Open Kiosk Settings

  1. On the kiosk menu, tap the restaurant logo or order number at the top-left.
  2. On Enter your PIN, enter the authorized manager PIN, then tap DONE. The screenshot shows the PIN boxes empty.

  3. On Setting, choose PDQ, Configure Printer, or NFC (Tap To Pay).

Configure the PDQ

  1. Open PDQ. If no terminal is connected, tap Configure PDQ.

  2. On PDQ details, enter the provider-supplied values:
    • Nick Name: a recognizable name for the terminal.
    • Serial Number: the terminal serial number.
    • TPN: the 12-digit terminal processing number.
    • Auth key and Token: protected provider credentials.
    • Model: the matching PDQ model.
    • Connection Status: select Enable.

  3. Check every value against the physical terminal or provider record, then tap Save.
  4. Confirm the PDQ screen shows the selected terminal as connected.

Configure the Printer

  1. Return to Setting and open Configure Printer. If none is connected, tap Connected Printer.

  2. Select Wi-Fi / LAN, BLUETOOTH, or USB to match the printer connection.

  3. Wait for discovery. Select the correct printer when it appears. If a Wi-Fi/LAN printer is not listed, tap Discover again or Add Printer Manually.

  4. On Printer details, confirm or enter the Nick Name, Model, Connection type, Address, and Paper size. A Wi-Fi/LAN printer requires a valid IP address.

  5. Tap Save, then confirm the printer appears on the Configure Printer screen.

Enable NFC Tap To Pay

  1. Return to Setting and open NFC (Tap To Pay).

  2. Confirm the displayed terminal identifiers match the Tap To Pay record for this kiosk, then turn on the switch.
  3. If No Tap To Pay Data Found appears, leave the switch off and ask an administrator or payment provider to provision and sync Tap To Pay before trying again.

Expected Result

The kiosk shows the required PDQ and receipt printer as connected. NFC is enabled only when a valid Tap To Pay record is available.

Troubleshooting

Notes

Screenshots were captured from the Medium Tablet emulator on July 14, 2026. The emulator had no physical PDQ, printer, or Tap To Pay record, so live hardware discovery and successful transactions should be verified on the restaurant kiosk.
