How to Change an Item or Modifier Quantity

For cashiers and servers who need to set the quantity of a menu item or an added modifier before sending the order.

Before you start: Open an in-progress order. The item must be available on the menu; modifier controls appear only after you choose an item, and any required size or modifier selections.

Change an item quantity

  3. Tap + or until the displayed quantity is correct, then tap the purple check mark to apply it. Complete any size or modifier choices that follow. The item row in the order shows the new quantity and updated amount. Order cart showing Classic Garlic Bread with quantity 2

Change an item quantity from the cart

  1. After the item has been added, tap its quantity box at the left of the item row. The numeric soft keyboard opens. Order cart with the item quantity field selected and numeric soft keyboard open
  2. Enter the new whole-number quantity, then tap the keyboard check mark (Done). The cart updates the item amount and order totals.

Important: Enter a quantity greater than zero. SalsaPOS rejects zero, a leading zero, or non-numeric input and restores the previous quantity.

Change a modifier quantity

  1. With the item open, select its size if prompted. On the modifier screen, tap the modifier you need, such as Extra Cheese. Modifier selection screen for Classic Garlic Bread

  3. Tap the purple check mark on the modifier screen to finish the item configuration. Confirm the modifier line and the order total before sending the order.

Expected result

The cart displays the item quantity, modifier quantity, and recalculated amounts. For example, a modifier quantity of 2X appears on the modifier line.

Common issues

Note: Menu names, prices, sizes, and available modifiers are specific to the restaurant configuration. The screenshots use sample menu data from the connected POS terminal.
